How your account and your customers’ data are protected.

Your account
- Two-factor authentication with an authenticator app and recovery codes (Profile → Security).
- A list of your devices, and "log out other devices".
- Sign-in attempts are limited per email and IP address.
- A sign-in from a new browser or an unusual country asks for a code we email you (accounts with an authenticator app get that check instead). Sensitive changes in a session that looks unsafe ask for an email code too.

- Every workspace's data is kept apart from all others.
- Roles decide who can see and change what.
- Identity verification stops visitors from pretending to be your customers.

Your customers
- The help center and our website work without cookies.

Deleting your account or a workspace
- Hand a workspace over. In Settings → Teammates, the owner can choose Make owner next to an active teammate. They get full control, including billing; you stay as an admin.
- Delete a workspace (owner only): Settings → General → Delete workspace. Type the workspace name and your password. The workspace closes for everyone at once — the Messenger disappears from your site, email, channels and the API stop — and a paid subscription is cancelled. For 30 days you can restore it from Profile; after that its conversations, contacts, articles, files and settings are deleted for good. Backups roll off within 35 days.
- Delete your account: Profile → Delete account. Type your email and your password. Your personal details are removed and you are signed out everywhere; messages you wrote stay in your team's conversations as "Former teammate". If you own a workspace that other people use, make someone else the owner first. Workspaces you own alone are closed with your account.
Accounts that sign in with Google (no password) confirm these steps with a code sent by email.
